He planned for Adam and Eve to have a family. That verse says, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” Pastor Karnes says he thought of James 1:27 when he got involved in foster care. They were some of the most vulnerable people around. ![]() In many places in the Bible, God says that we are to be kind to widows, orphans, and foreigners. But He particularly puts an emphasis on caring for orphans and other needy people.
